What to watch
Contents
What to watch is the first tab on the Replay Vision home. It reads the observations every scanner produced over a date range and picks the ones most worth a look, so you can start with a short list of clips instead of a table per scanner.

What each card shows
Each card is one observation:
- Thumbnail – a frame from the recording, with the key moment's timestamp on it. The key moment is where the scan's answer rests most.
- Headline – the summary's title for summarizers, or the first sentence of the reasoning for other scanner types.
- Person and time – who was recorded, with a link to their person profile, and when the scan ran.
- Question and result – the scanner's prompt condensed into one question, with the verdict, score, or categories it gave. Hover the question to see the scanner's name.
- Reason – one line on why the observation made the feed.
Cards for observations you haven't opened yet are marked New. This is tracked per user, and opening the observation's page clears it.
Watching a clip
Click the thumbnail to watch the recording in a player without leaving the feed. It starts 3 seconds before the key moment, so you see what led up to it. Recordings without a key moment start from the beginning.
Click anywhere else on the card to open the observation page with the player at the same moment. Going back returns you to the feed.
Why a clip is in the feed
Every card says why it's there. When the scan wrote its own sentence about what makes the session worth watching, the card shows that sentence. Otherwise it gives one of these reasons:
| Reason | What it means |
|---|---|
| The scanner raised signals | The session fed findings into Signals. The card names the issue type (bug, crash, design flaw, or UX friction) and the findings' headlines |
| A rare answer | A monitor gave an answer that's unusual for it in this window |
| The scanner answered yes | A monitor hit, when the window is too thin to know which answer is unusual |
| Far from the recent average | A scorer's score is far from its average over the window |
| An uncommon tag | A classifier picked a category it rarely uses lately |
| Reads unlike the scanner's other sessions | A summary that differs from the scanner's other summaries in the window |
| Worth watching | The scan judged the session worth watching, whatever its answer was |
| Signs of friction | The scan describes errors, retries, or dead ends |
| New since you last looked | Nothing stood out, and you haven't opened it yet |
| The newest from this scanner | Nothing stood out, and it's among the most recent |
The last two only pad out a feed that has few findings. If every card is one of them, the feed says that nothing stood out in this window and shows the newest clips.
Filtering the feed
The controls above the feed narrow what it picks from:
- Search clips – matches the scan's own words (title, summary, reasoning, and the worth-watching sentence) and the scanner's name. It searches the whole window, not only the clips that would have shown without it. For searching by meaning, use the Search tab, see searching observations.
- Scanners – follow only the scanners you pick. Use the All scanners row at the top to select or clear all scanners at once.
- Created by – filter by who created the scanner, showing only observations from scanners created by specific users.
- Tags – follow scanners with the tags you pick, handy when you have many scanners for one area.
- Type – one scanner type.
- Date range – the last 7 days by default, up to the last 90 days.
Clear filters resets them. The URL keeps your filters, so you can share a filtered feed.
Switch between the list and a grid of thumbnails with the toggle next to the filters. Your choice is remembered.
When the feed is empty or stale
The feed adapts to your project's scanner state, showing the most helpful information and actions for each situation.
No scanners yet
If you haven't created any scanners, the feed walks you through getting started:
- Click the quickstart button to create Session highlights – a free summarizer scanner that reads each new recording and surfaces the ones worth watching.
- Confirm the scope and cost in a one-tap card.
- The scanner immediately bulk-scans up to 25 of your most recent eligible recordings, so first results appear within minutes.
A running header shows progress during this initial scan. It survives page refreshes and settles after three minutes without progress. Once complete, the feed shows your first picks.
Free credits are the default. If your organization's free credits are exhausted, the setup prompts for a monthly budget with presets of 1,000, 2,500, or 5,000 credits.
Scanners exist, but no picks yet
When you have scanners but they haven't surfaced any picks in the current window, the feed shows how many scanners are running and when they last swept. A Scan the last 7 days now button lets you backfill: pick a scanner, see a live count of matching recordings and the estimated credit cost, then start.
Stale picks
When your scanners have picks but they're all viewed or older than two days, the feed explains why and what to do:
| State | What it means | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| Caught up | Your scanners processed recent recordings and nothing new stood out. | Wait for new sessions, or widen your date range. |
| Quiet week | Few recordings matched recently. The feed shows counts of what was scanned. | Click Show the newest results anyway to see them below the ranked rows. |
| Drought after an edit | A scanner's config was changed but it hasn't matched anything since. | Run a 7-day backfill or review the scanner's filters. |
| Capped | One or more scanners hit their credit limit for this billing period. | Raise the limit inline to resume scanning. |
| All disabled | Every scanner is turned off. | Toggle individual scanners back on with the switches shown. |
| Credits used up | Your organization's Replay Vision credits are exhausted. | Wait for the period to reset or raise the limit. See quota and limits. |
Other empty states
- No clips match these filters in this window – loosen your filters or click Clear filters.
- Nothing stood out in this window – try a longer date range.
Default column and refreshing
The What to watch column opens by default on first visit, even when empty. After two empty visits without interaction, it switches back to All recordings as the default. Tapping All recordings or What to watch is remembered.
Picks reload automatically when you focus the window after being away for a minute or more. If the feed fails to load, a centered Retry button lets you try again.
